My life is dedicated to making stuff.
Before I graduated high school, my parents gave me a choice: would you like us to help pay for college, or would you like a van so your band could go on tour to give it a shot? We chose the van, and for the next 13 years I traveled the world with my friends playing music.
Sleeping on floors in different countries, driving through record-breaking blizzards in Colorado and New Jersey, just missing a European volcanic eruption on a plane, and playing everywhere from an arena in Singapore to a roller rink in Alabama.
My life in music and documenting it led me to copywriting, journalism, comic writing, social media, email and text message marketing, art direction, creative direction, starting Rootless Coffee Co., designing and ordering merchandise, management, and eventually running the creative department of my dream marketing agency KARMA jack. Blah blah blah, we get it.
I do a lot. But even on my worst days, I’m living the life I’ve always dreamed of. I work with people who blow my mind. And it's only getting better.

That’s why I write. Music, prose, comics, copy, whatever it is, I love getting some kind of emotional response from other human beings. I love concentrating on the gray area of life. Maybe I’m a constructive pessimist, or I’m just cool looking like a total idiot.
